Having Password or Login Issues?

Find the answers to your problems below...

I'm here to help but PLEASE try the following steps before asking for assistance... it's bound to be covered here!

Since almost every computer is a bit different from the rest, very occasionally new members may experience login issues when they try to login to the members' area for the first time. We'd like to stress this is VERY occasionally. But every single one of these problems CAN be rectified easily by simply tweaking a few settings.

STEP 1 - CONFIRM YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD ARE CORRECT!

Ok - the first thing to check is that you are using the correct username and password. Sounds pretty straightforward but you'd be surprised at how many people are not doing this. Or they make a typo and start to panic.

Firstly WHITELIST this address

  - if you don't do this you may not receive the email that our system will send you.

You can retrieve your username and password by CLICKING HERE

You should arrive at a screen like this:

Please enter the SAME email address as you joined Resources4Writers.com with in the box that reads Forgotten Password? (as in the screenshot above)

If you're certain that your username (email address) and password are correct then it's probably just a case of tweaking a few settings in your browser.

STEP 2 - CHECK YOUR BROWSER SETTINGS!

Instructions for users of Internet Explorer

Please check your browser settings to ensure that you have cookies enabled. Our password management system uses session cookies to enable you to log in to our members area.

If you are having problems with your browser logging you out of the members area after every visit, try this solution to fix.

If you are running Internet Explorer (We are running v6.0 so it could possibly be different on your version
if you are not running the same one) - go to:

Tools Menu --> Internet Options.

Click on the Privacy Tab

If your setting is set to some of the options then you will most likely need to go into the "Advanced" menu (use the middle button) and override the handling of cookies to allow session cookies.

Alternatively, try using the vertical slider bar to set a slightly different privacy level.

If you get a message similar to the following one and you are NOT asked for a password when trying to login:

Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

then it is most likely that another browser setting is affecting this. Please follow the procedure below:

STEP 1 - Open your browser and Click the Tools Menu -> Internet Options

FIG 1.0 (Below)

STEP 2 - Click the Security Tab at the top of the box which appears and then click the Custom Level button as in the screenshot below.

FIG 2.0 (Below)

STEP 3 - A list of Security Settings will appear as below and if you scroll right to the very bottom, you will find a section saying User Authentication....(see Fig 3.1 - below) You probably have it set to Anonymous Login - you will need to change this to Prompt for Username and Password. Then click OK.

Close your browser and reopen it and then try logging in.

STEP 3 - IF YOU'RE STILL ENCOUNTERING DIFFICULTIES PLEASE EMAIL

If neither of the above solutions work for you, please email me

...and I will work one on one with you until the problem is resolved.

When you email, please send a copy of the username and password you received in Step 1, and please include your name in the email.  (You'll be surprised how many people don't!)

I will endeavour to get back to you as quickly as possible. If you do not receive email response within 24-48 hours please assume your email was not received and send again.
